Nanchang's highlights fit a relaxed single day, which is why most Jiangxi loops start here. Begin at 8:30 with the Tengwang Pavilion while it is cool — climb to the top floor for the Gan River panorama that inspired Wang Bo's Tang-dynasty masterpiece. Walk to the riverfront music fountain, then lunch in the old town: banfen noodles, clay-pot soup and artemisia stir-fry. Spend the afternoon at August 1st Square and the Nanchang Uprising Museum, then wander Wanshou Palace's restored lanes and Taoist temple as lights come on. Finish at Wanshou food street or along the river night cruise. Wear comfortable shoes (about 6 km total), carry water in summer, and if a Monday closes the museum, swap in the 699 Culture Park instead. Our day tour includes all tickets, lunch and station/airport transfers.
