Jingdezhen has made porcelain for over 1,700 years and was the exclusive supplier to Ming and Qing emperors. Its translucent blue-and-white and egg-shell porcelain travelled the Silk Road to Europe, and today the city blends living kilns, designer studios and trendy ceramic markets.

Getting There
High-speed trains stop at Jingdezhen North station. One full day comfortably covers the kilns, museum and a DIY workshop. Pair it with Wuyuan (40 minutes by train) or Mount Lu.
